Comparison between electronic instantaneous water heaters and hot water tanks (or conventional hydraulic instantaneous water heaters)

The direct comparison between electronic instantaneous water heaters and other decentralised systems (e.g. hot water storage tanks or conventional hydraulic instantaneous water heaters) shows that instantaneous water heaters have many advantages:

Instantaneous water heaters are particularly efficient because they only heat the water when needed.
Storage heaters, on the other hand, store a certain amount of hot water and keep it at the set temperature at all times.

Instantaneous water heaters do not consume standby energy.
Hot water storage heaters consume standby power every day, regardless of whether water is drawn or not.

Useful life: 10 seconds each
Useful temperature: approx. 38 °C
Number of days of use: 230 days
Electricity price per kWh: 0.25 Euro
Water and waste water costs: 4.30 Euro per m³

Considering the lower water consumption and the heat radiation of temperature control valves in conventional small storage heaters, a small instantaneous water heater can save up to 70 euros a year.

Considering the lower water consumption, a compact instantaneous water heater can save up to 90 euros per year, depending on the tariff.

Electricity price per kWh: 0.25 Euro
Water and waste water costs: 4.30 Euro per m³

With an electronic instantaneous water heater, annual savings of up to 160 euros can be made compared to a hydraulic unit. A device replacement is therefore worthwhile, because the purchase costs are quickly amortized.
